Community Exploration Findings

Most of the time, researching is a lonely task – just you and the computer, sifting through heaps of information online and analyzing it to find the good stuff. For the "community exploration findings" portion of the paper, look for opportunities to extend the research into contact with another person or persons. For example, if you were researching Heart Disease for your Medical Topic, you could list The American Cancer Society's site, and various newsgroup support groups for people dealing with that problem; or if your topic was Alcoholism you could list the various resources online for Alcoholics Anonymous, Al-Anon, Al-a-Teen, etc., as well as whether you corresponded with any of the authors of the web pages you found in your search for further information on your topic. In other words, where are the people that go with your topic? Where can you find them, and what resources are they offering online?
